What is the $99 "Comments Only" coverage?
If, in the past, you have received ScriptShark Coverage, Story Notes, or Notes Plus for a specific piece of material (screenplays only), you are eligible to receive a resubmission discount. As long as you fulfill the requirements listed below, you may submit your screenplay for the $99 “Comments Only” coverage.

What do you mean by “Comments Only?”
ScriptShark coverage reports include both a synopsis and comments section. With the $99 “Comments Only” coverage, you will receive the same high-quality analysis you’d receive in a regular coverage minus the sequential break-down of plot points and character events.

Does ScriptShark re-read the entire screenplay?
Absolutely. Although a synopsis is not generated, the analysts spend the same, quality time reading and analyzing your screenplay. In order to provide you the savings, we have eliminated this time-consuming aspect of the coverage process.

Why is the discount only available for Resubmissions?
While we realize the Comments are the most significant aspect of the analysis for the screenwriter, the synopsis is important should we be in future contact with agents, managers, or producers. The synopsis is a long-standing aspect of this type of report, and helps make the overall review applicable to the Industry.

I submitted a different script to ScriptShark in the past, am I eligible?
Unfortunately, only draft changes and/or polishes of existing material will be eligible for the discount. All new material must sign up for standard ScriptShark Coverage.

Will ScriptShark know if this was a resubmission?
ScriptShark keeps detailed records of all past submissions. We will check your past submission records by both name and script title to verify the material's previous existence in our system.

What if a screenplay is titled the same as a past submission, but the story is different?
ScriptShark checks before and after the submission process to make sure you are submitting a screenplay that is pre-existing in our system. That means, once the Comments Only Coverage is complete, its story and characters should generally match the past analysis. If they do not, you will be given the opportunity to pay the complete coverage fee and have the analysis upgraded, or the material will be returned to you without the coverage and you will be assessed a $50 non-refundable retainer fee for time spent preparing and analyzing your submission.

I am turning in a page-one rewrite. The idea is the same, but the story and characters are now different. Am I eligible for Comments Only?
This service is for new drafts of the same screenplay. Completely re-scripting a story and characters does not constitute a “resubmission” of the same script. That being said, you will be allowed to make significant changes to the same story and characters – it’s important to have the freedom to rewrite what you need to. All we ask is that you do not abuse the system - if you know it’s questionable, please resubmit with the standard 10% discount. If the resubmission looks suspiciously different from the last version, we will call you about it.

Will the analysts look at my old coverage when I resubmit?
No, the analyst will treat the resubmission like a completely new submission. Only members of our administrative team will view the old coverage to verify its eligibility.

I previously submitted my script for Story Notes or Notes Plus – am I eligible for the discounted resubmission?
Yes, resubmissions from both of these services are eligible. However, you are not eligible if you have only submitted a treatment and are now submitting the screenplay.

Am I still eligible for The Executive Market should I receive a Consider or Recommend?
Yes, Comments Only Coverages are potential candidates for ScriptShark's Executive Market and our famous scouting services.

Can I receive both discounts at once?
No, as with all ScriptShark services, you may only receive one discount per submission.
