What is Pro Sessions?
Pro Sessions is a telephone-based service designed to provide you professional-level advice from real, working producers with notable credits. Whether you choose to chat with them regarding an individual screenplay or receive a general overview of the industry, Pro Sessions can help inform both you and your material.
Is Pro Sessions just a phone call?
Actually – it's more than just a phone call. After you complete ScriptShark’s Pro Sessions, you will receive a CD with your one-hour discussion included. As with our written notes and analysis, we know it’s important that you actually gain something from the process that you can take with you. The CD will arrive approximately a week after the call and will be a great refresher of the ideas discussed.
Can I listen to the CD in a normal CD player?
Yes, the CD will be formatted to play in most standard CD players or CD-Roms.
How do you get such great people?
ScriptShark has long-standing relationships with some of the top agents, managers, and producers in town. This new service allows aspiring writers, from all over the world, a non-intrusive method of reaching out and asking questions that may not otherwise be accessible.

What is covered in the Pro Overview?
This conference allows you to talk to one of our Pro Sessions Producers without a specific piece of material. If you have general questions about the entertainment industry or would like a tutorial on the business process, this is a great service. Often people learn a lot about the craft of writing, but aren’t able to access information about the process that takes place afterwards. This service helps solve that problem.
Can I ask questions in the Pro Overview?
Of course you can – Pro Sessions is designed to provide you with an arena to discuss the areas you have questions about. That being said, we suggest that you come prepared with a list of issues you have been thinking about – this helps ensure that the topics you are most interested in are covered.
What if I don’t have specific questions?
Our Pro Sessions Producers will have a curriculum of material outlined to discuss should you run out of things to talk about. Often times writers access this tool to learn things they are not already familiar with. Because of this, a wide array of subject areas may be covered - and it will act as a condensed film-school course on the business of screenwriting.
Can I talk about a specific project in the Pro Overview?
The Pro Sessions Overview will provide a general foundation of the industry as opposed to specifics about a piece of material. While the Producers may be able to answer some general questions in relation to a script, they will be missing the background necessary to help you make informed decisions on a piece of material. If this is what you are looking for, please submit for the Pro Sessions Screenplay Analysis.

How do I know the producers have read the whole script?
The Pro Sessions Telenotes are similar to our advanced Story Notes services. With sixty minutes of phone call to cover, the producers must not only be familiar with the story, but ready to discuss it in detail. In turn, they spend an extensive amount of time before the conference preparing their notes in an organized fashion to provide you with effective thoughts on your material.
Will these producers purchase/produce my screenplay?
While a relationship will certainly be created, the goal of this service is to work through a set of notes as if the material were already in development. Going into the call, it's important to remember that you're working at a stage beyond the pitch process - you are working on your screenplay with a producer. ScriptShark would like to see all of the material submitted to us produced; however, as with our other services, that is dependent on the writing execution.
Do I get notes on the screenplay?
The notes you will receive from the Pro Sessions Telenotes phone call will come in the form of a CD. Less rigid than our standard written Story Notes, Pro Sessions uses conversational, audio techniques to deliver clear and concise thoughts on material. The notes will be constructed similarly, but may be interspersed with conversation about the material itself.
Is my screenplay eligible for the Executive Market?
Yes, all Pro Sessions Screenplay Analysis will receive "Recommend", "Consider," or "Pass" notation - making them eligible for our scouting services.
Why am I required to sign both a Producer's Release, as well as the ScriptShark release?
Coming in contact with so much material, it's vital for producers to use forms developed by their own legal team to protect themselves when receiving submissions from parties they are not familiar with. In order for ScriptShark to bring this service to you, it's important that our Producers feel confident enough to read your material and discuss it in detail.
